— Ayurvedic Postpartum Doula &

INNATE Postpartum Care Practitioner —

Hi there, I’m Skylar!

I’m a mother, postpartum doula, home herbalist, and farmer devoted to supporting women through the sacred window of transformation after birth in southeast Nebraska. I live on the prairie with my family, where we regeneratively graze goats and cattle.

I created Deep Roots Doula Care to help fill the gap in support so many mothers experience after birth. Guided by nature, my work is rooted in the belief that food is medicine, nourishing and restoring the mind, body, and spirit.

I support mothers in rebuilding their strength and vitality through nourishing meals, body care, emotional support, and gentle guidance.

With my first son, I remember leaving the hospital with a “baby manual” on how to care for my newborn, but no guidance on how to care for myself in a supported and easeful recovery.

I experienced rage, isolation, and deep fatigue. My postpartum care from my midwives was minimal, with only two visits. Even after a forceps delivery, I received no referrals for pelvic floor physical therapy. Eighteen months after his birth, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease.

When I became pregnant again, I chose a different path. I trusted my intuition and leaned into traditional postpartum care, prioritizing rest, nourishment, and support.

My recovery was completely different. I felt held, steady, and deeply restored in a way I had not known before.

After months of consistent care during pregnancy, many mothers are left feeling unsupported once their baby arrives.

Dis-ease and dysfunction after birth are common in our society, but they are not normal.

There is a roadmap to wellness after birth when we look to postpartum traditions around the world, from Russia to Malaysia to Mexico.

I am here in service to mothers, offering mother-centered postpartum care that supports deep, lasting change for both mother and family.

I am here to help mothers create a postpartum filled with joy, peace, connection, and confidence. I want to help new moms feel empowered to set up a postpartum where they feel honored, supported, and well-fed.

Mothers bring life into the world and give so much to their families.

It is time we pour more loving attention into the cup of the mother.
